On 2nd December, Acoucité and MONICA were awarded the Silver Decibel in the competition “Decibel d’Or” (Golden Decibel), organised by the Counseil National du Bruit (National Noise Council) in France. The purpose of the competition, which has existed since 1991, is to reward outstanding initiatives in the prevention, reduction or control of noise and the improvement of the noise environment.
The jury awarded 12 winners within five categories, out of a total of about 100 applications. Acoucité and MONICA won the prize in the research category for having ‘a tool that should help organisers of outdoor festivals comply with the new regulatory thresholds imposed by recent regulations at places where amplified sounds are produced’.
Director of Acoucité, Bruno Vincent had the following response:
– ‘It is all the strength, richness and interest of European research partnerships that are now being rewarded. It is also a sign of a high societal expectation for the management of major public events. Acoucité is very happy to share this recognition with its project partners in the last months of the MONICA project – supported by Europe‘.
